Place steamer insert inside, cover, and bring to a boil over high heat. Add eggs to steamer basket, cover, and continue cooking, 6 minutes for soft-boiled eggs or 12 minutes for hard-boiled. Serve immediately if serving hot.
Now you can make perfect eggs in just minutes! Simply add water to the base, place up to 4 eggs inside and cook in your microwave. About 4-5 minutes will give you delicious soft boiled eggs and after 7-8 minutes, you'll have perfect hard boiled eggs.
Microwave cookers will cook your eggs in no time. You can make yourself a plate of scrambled eggs in less than four minutes, or boiled eggs in 7 to 8 minutes only. The quick cooking times make this a great and worthwhile investment.
Steaming is a much gentler approach. It is also a more even cooking method, since the eggs are not touching the bottom of the pot, where it can be hotter. I have also found that steamed hard-boiled eggs seem to peel more easily than hard-boiled ones.
Cover the bowl with a microwave-safe plate and microwave at 500 watts (on 50 percent power or power level 5 on a 1,000-watt microwave) until the eggs have just set and are no longer liquid in the middle, 5 to 7 minutes.
For Soft Boiled Egg: Microwave on High (100% power) for 30 seconds, or on Medium (50% power) for 50 seconds. Let stand for 30 seconds before removing plastic wrap or lid. If still undercooked, turn egg over in container, cover, and microwave for another 10 seconds, or until cooked as desired.
Just place your egg in a microwave-safe ramekin and top with water to cover. Water is a great heating medium—especially in a microwave which works by activating water molecules to heat your food. Submerging your egg in water allows the egg to cook more evenly, preventing those heat pockets from exploding.
It really works! This egg pod really works. 10 minutes and 12 seconds in my microwave and the eggs are cooked prefect , not too hard or too soft, just right. It is sooo much easer than boiling eggs.
Because steaming can be achieved by heating less water or liquid, and because of the excellent thermodynamic heat transfer properties of steam, steaming can be as fast, or faster, than cooking in boiling water, as well as being more energy efficient.
Bring the water to a boil on the stovetop so that it is producing steam. Turn off the heat and, using tongs, place the eggs in a single layer in the bottom of the steamer basket. Turn the stove back up to medium-high heat and cover the pot. For soft-steamed eggs, cook the eggs for 6 minutes.
You can choose from three different boiling options – soft-boiled eggs (8 minutes), medium-boiled eggs (10 minutes), and hard-boiled eggs (12 minutes). The egg boilers are designed to keep safety in mind. They come with the automatic power-off feature that turns off automatically once the eggs are boiled.
How do you tell if steamed eggs are done? You can test for doneness by gently rocking the pot you're steaming in.It should jiggle like gelatin or custard, with a fully set top.
Set your timer for 4-5 mins for runny/dippy eggs to serve with soldiers, or 6-7 mins for soft-boiled eggs for a salad. If serving in a salad, plunge the eggs into a bowl of cold water as soon as the timer goes off – this will stop them cooking and cool the shells quickly for peeling.
Overcooking at a high temperature causes a chemical reaction between the sulfur in the egg whites and the iron in the egg yolk, causing green ferrous sulfide to form.
