Here are a few of my suggestions for biome key rewards. This includes every 'unique' biome/environment in terraria, including mini biomes. Keys from the main biomes (Desert, Underworld, temple, dungeon, ocean, purity, mushroom and sky/space) will have the same 0.04% chance as the current keys. Keys from mini biomes (Granite, marble, bee hive, spider nest and meteorite) will have a slightly raised chance at 0.06%, this is because mini biomes are smaller.

Ancient Knife
Damage 50 throwing damage
Critical chance 4%
Velocity 5
Very Fast Speed [Auto-throw]
Weak Knockback
''Throw a returning knife, each successful hit increases speed by a fixed amount''

Staff of the Granite Golem
Damage 20 Summon damage (summons two)
Minion knockback Strong
Mana usage 20
''Summons Granite Golems to protect you'' (Granite Golems are a special summon, and will not count towards your total minions. Granite Golems despawn if the take too much damage and enemies will target the golems instead of you. Max health is scaled with damage)

Soul of Fight x3
Material
Used in crafting the end-game throwing class armour
Crafting
Gladiator Leggings + Soul of Fight
Gladiator Breastplate + Soul of Fight
Gladiator Helmet + Soul of Fight

Lihzahrd Amulet
Equipable (Accessory)
Activates when health lowers to 55%, minor increase to all stats and large increase to speed.

Satan's Glare [Your eyes glow a bright red when used]
Damage 30 Magic (Targets all enemies in your line of sight)
Critical chance 4%
Knowback None
Mana usage 9
Speed insanely fast
''you wield a great, evil power''

Sky
Magical Wyverntail
Summons a baby Wyvern (mount)

Spider Egg Flinger
60 Damage Ranged [eggs have a change of hatching and spiders will attack the enemies, they do a few hits then disappear]
Critical chance 4%
Speed Fast
Knockback Extremely Weak
Velocity 4.5 (Loses speed and falls to the ground over a short distance)

Queen's Larva
20 summon damage (damage is incredibly low because the summon summons smaller bees at enemies)
Minion Knockback extremely weak
Mana usage 20

Note: The bees summoned by the Queen's Larva benefit from the hive pack.

Squid Launcher (Launches live squids)
Grappling hook
Range 17
One hook
(Unique ability, allows the user to manually pull towards the centre and move freely)

Dungeon
Skeletron's Wrath
Damage 60 Magic
Critical chance 9%
Knockback Strong
Mana Usage 40
Summons large spinning skulls to attack your enemies (They travel in a straight line and travel through blocks)

Otherworld (Forest, caverns/purity)
Living Wooden Sword
Melee 75 Damage
Critical chance 4%
Knockback average
''Let nature help you'' (Leafs orbit around you when holding this sword, like the Dryad's ability. You can also summon a thorn that is short ranged/can travel through blocks by swinging your sword)

Accessory
Summons friendly meteorites that spawn around you and move towards enemies and explode into them when in range. Deals 30-120 damage, randomly.)

Shroomite Blaster
Ranged damage 60 (Automatic)
Velocity 20
Critical chance 4%
Chance not to consume ammo 50%.
(Occasionally releases spores that home in on enemies for high damage)

Sheesh. I don't support lots of the chests. Lots of these are Mini Biomes that really don't Deserve a chest. Also with that many chests the dungeon would get cluttered. The Purity, Ocean, Desert, Underworld, and Sky are the only ones i will support.

I only support biome keys for fully developed biomes personally. Try grinding meteors and see how boring it becomes.

I noticed that some are not weapons at all and that's just plain wierd in my opinion.

The dungeon is fairly large and each chest would only be 2x2 tiles. I am quite curious why you don't like mini biomes to have their own unique endgame item. Also mushroom is not a mini biome (It has it's own solution and is considered the opposite of jungle, just like corruption/crimson vs hallowed). A

Maybe meteorite should be a little higher for a drop chance then?
Weird? well we only have four biome chests (excluding crimson as it cannot exist with it's counterpart) so that is only enough for a single weapon from the original four playable classes. Sure we could go back to tradition but honestly what would you do with 17 weapons?
