Celebrate Black Teachers and Students
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Throughout the week we use intervention programs on technology to close the learning gap in reading and math and have had great success in seeing student progress when the programs are able to be used as intended. My students also love to read on Epic!, an online library of books with many different reading levels and genres. However, in order to be able to hear their iPad they need to be able to turn up the sound! This causes many distractions from all over the classroom, pulling away focus from what they are currently working on.
The headphones, combined with the tennis balls on the bottoms of chairs and the fidget chair bands will help students to move quietly in their chairs, allowing more focus on the learning that is taking place, rather than students listening to what is going on around them.
I know my students are capable learners, who if given the chance, can make great gains! We appreciate your help in making this happen, and in getting our school year started off on the right foot!
