Today we are featuring these amazing Caramel Apple Baked Donuts!The beauty of these delicious treats is the fact that they are baked and not fried, which I like to pretend makes these a healthy treat 😉

Caramel Apple Donuts Ingredients
(yields 12-14)
Donut batter:
- Flour
- Sugar
- Baking Powder
- Nutmeg
- Cinnamon
- Salt
- Buttermilk or (3/4 cup Milk + 1/4 tsp Lemon juice or White Vinegar)
- Eggs
- Butter
- Apples
Topping:
- Caramels
- Milk
- Nuts
How to Make Caramel Apple Donuts
Add lemon juice to milk (buttermilk substitute).
Preheat oven to 425
Grease Donut pan. You can find one here if you don’t have one.
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt in large bowl.
Add buttermilk, eggs and butter.
Stir just until well mixed.
Fold in shredded apples.
Fill each ring about 2/3 but make sure it doesn’t top center hole.
Bake about 8 minutes, until tops rebound when pressed.
Leave donut in pan for about 5 minutes.
Remove from pan and set on cooling rack.
Unwrap caramels and place in small sauce pan.
Add milk and heat over low heat stirring frequently until melted.
Allow to cool until warm.
Dip cooled donuts in caramel and place on rack.
Sprinkle top with chopped nuts.
Wait for glaze to set.

Ingredients

If using the mini donut pan how long do the cook

I haven’t tried to make these using a mini pan before so I am not sure how long to cook using one.

Do you dip the entire donut or just the tops?

I’d just dip the tops, but it really depends on how much you like the nuts and want to cover it with them.
